Default Elite Dungeons

Hi there. I've just finished the 3 campaigns and EoTN (WiK in progress) and I'm looking forward to fill my HoM with the statues for the elite dungeons. I haven't done any of them (just "visited" UW and FoW out of curiosity once, years ago). Nor do I even know how to get the quests there.

I just want to clear all those dungeons once for the HoM, in hard mode if possible for the faction points. Question is, what's the best way to clear them for someone like me who has no experience? I'd prefer to PUG since it's more fun than heroes but would PUGs even accept inexperienced people? Also, are there even PUGs for the other less popular dungeons (Urgoz?)? Or should I just try heroes for all?

I'm an ele, by the way.

Thanks in advance for any tip!

EDIT: I'm not sure if this is right forum; kindly move it if it's not.

Read up on each. Try heroes first. Good way to get help is to be able to put on chat, "got as far as xxx but get killed by the yyy." People are more likely to help someone who is trying than a lazy wannabe that just spams for help. Try that.

I agree with wilebill. Urgoz and UW especially (and the Deep, honestly) are not areas that you just fall into in HM and "figure out as you go along." All of these areas punish you for mistakes by kicking you out. Read up on them, watch some YouTube videos, learn the basic tricks, then give them some NM test runs with heroes. Once you get the lay of the land and understand what the enemies do and how the quests work (in the case of UW and FoW), you'll be better prepared to PUG. I would honestly suggest going for NM first. Once you've gotten all the way through to the end (which can often be the trickiest part) and completed it, only then, I think, will you be ready to tackle it in HM.

As for the scarcity of PUGs, as with anything, they're most popular on/around Zaishen Bounty days. I'm not too sure about UW/FoW groups, since all I ever see around ToA are speed clears. You might want to hit up the Grouping Section here on Guru. If you're up front about your level of experience and what you struggle with, people will be better able to prepare and help you and not just rage if you screw up in a random pick-up.

There's not usually people looking for PUGs in these areas, except for speed clears, or when there's a Zaishen Quest for them. And, even if you get into a PuG, it's best to be familiar with them already. So, I would suggest doing them in normal mode for the statues (probably with Heroes) and then you can repeat them in HM. There is one difficulty, though - the Deep and Urgoz's are designed for 12-player groups, which means at least 2 humans for a full party.

Thanks all! I guess I'll try the easier ones first, FoW or Sorrow's Furnace, with heroes.

Mods, thread can be closed.
